Welcome

The Dimmer Family Foundation was founded in 1993 by long-time Tacoma area residents, John C. and Marilyn Dimmer. Their goal was to give back to the community they love. Since its inception, the foundation has granted approximately $5 million to qualified charities, primarily in the Tacoma-Pierce County area. Charitable contributions have been made to organizations focusing on children, families and the elderly; civic improvements; culture and the arts; education, and healthcare.

Grants are made by decision of the Board of Directors. There is currently no open grant application process. Applicants are discouraged from submitting a grant without first receiving a verbal or written invitation to do so. Some organizations are invited to submit a grant request directly from a member of the Board, or by contacting our Executive Director, Diane Dimmer. SEE CONTACT INFORMATION. Those applications submitted without an invitation may not be considered. For further information on the grant making process, please READ ON.

The foundation does not have an office or full time staff person. However, you are welcome to submit your questions or comments to Diane Dimmer, Executive Director of the foundation, at diane@dimmerfoundation.org and she will respond.
